New York Alternative Investment Roundtable
Membership Code of Conduct
Relationships, access to expert advice, and timely information are critical.
The frustration is real. Pulling together meaningful connections and staying in the know is a challenge. Finally, a place to connect in alternatives that puts you in the center of it all.
The New York Alternative Investment Roundtable (“the Roundtable”) is committed to maintaining a professional, inclusive, and ethical community that promotes thought leadership, collaboration, and integrity within the alternative investment industry. This Code of Conduct applies to all members, applicants, guests, volunteers, and participants in Roundtable programs and events, whether in person or virtual. By maintaining membership and participating in Roundtable activities, individuals agree to uphold the values of professionalism, respect, and ethical behavior.
Members of the Roundtable are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects positively on the organization and the broader alternative investment community. All interactions—whether verbal, written, or digital—should demonstrate respect, civility, and fairness. Members must refrain from disruptive, discriminatory, or harassing behavior, and should use appropriate, professional language in all contexts. The Roundtable has zero tolerance for harassment, discrimination, intimidation, or any conduct that creates a hostile environment.
To safeguard the integrity of discussions and the free exchange of ideas, members must respect confidentiality, avoid the unauthorized sharing of proprietary or sensitive information, and honor the Chatham House Rule when applicable. The Roundtable may in its sole and absolute discretion remove any individual for any reason, including, but not limited to, conduct deemed by the Roundtable to be inconsistent with its expectations or its mission. Alcohol consumption at events must be responsible and in compliance with venue and legal standards.
If a member or participant experiences or witnesses conduct that may violate this Code, they are encouraged to report it promptly to Roundtable leadership or staff. Reports will be handled with discretion and in good faith, and retaliation against anyone who makes a report or participates in an investigation will not be tolerated. The Roundtable may take appropriate actions, including verbal warnings, removal from events, suspension, or termination of membership, depending on the nature and severity of the violation. In cases where external legal or regulatory matters arise that could affect the organization’s reputation or community safety, the Roundtable may impose temporary or permanent restrictions on participation.
By joining or renewing membership, each individual acknowledges and agrees to abide by this Code of Conduct. The Roundtable reserves the right to review and amend this policy as needed to ensure it continues to reflect the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and respect within the alternative investment community.
